INSTRUCTION

Week 1 (13/04/2020)

We have a class today with Dr Jinchi and Dr Noorhayati through Microsoft Team. To recognize us, lecturers suggested us to change our profile pictures to our faces. After the ice breaking part, Dr Noorhayati briefed us about this module with MIB. Lecturer said there is a online workshop for how to utilize library resources and we must attend. Also, she said that we should have a decision for our specialization because we will use something that relate to it as our research topics. For the specialization, we can choose an area of our interest and we will study it from next semester until the end of our degree courses. I decide Animation and Visual Effect as my area of specialization.

For the research, there is somethings we need to pay attention :
1. The informations of research must be reliable so we have a strong foundation to proceed our research.
2. We can use the progression sheet of research to be a reflection on our work progress.
3. Don't be too psychological in our research.

Lecturers suggested have a look to some notes and videos they uploaded the in files when during our breaktime. By these information, I learn some steps for research which are:
1. Explore: Learning the topic from books, websites, newspaper and etc.
2. Identify: For example, we choose baseball as our topic. Since baseball is a broad topic, we need to choose a specific topic such as: "Baseball tradition", "The rules of baseball", "Invention of game" and etc. Also have some thinking like "Where is baseball a major sport?",  "How did it get started there?"
3. Gather: Collect facts, images to answer the questions you thought. We can take notes, write bullet phrase, use quotation marks or record sources.
4. Create: Demonstrate our research by video, animation, paper, skit and etc.
5. Share: Share what we learned through the research progression to others.
6. Reflect: Consider the easiest/hardest parts we faced. Think about did our final product answer the question and what will we do differently next time.

We ended up the class after most of us filled in our specialization.

Week 2(20/04/2020)

This week lecturers provide some slides which help us approach more to what is research and how should we do it. The slides explain some way that can guide us if we lost in our research.

Week 3(27/04/2020)
In this week, lecturer had a lecture which is more deeper in formulating research question and objective through two different ways which are inductive approach and deductive approach. The slides also explain about how should we write problem statement. This week's lecture is for us to identify our research's types and help us understand our situation of research. Below are two different slides provided by our lecturers.

PROPOSAL
Week 2(20/04/2020)
Before deciding my research topic, I went to Taylor's website to familiar more my specialization which is Animation and Visual Effect. I found a module called Sonic Design which introduce students about sound environment. I feel curious to this module because I used to play instrument in an orchestra. "Sound' for me is one of the most important things in my life. I like how Ghibli Studio's animation and orchestra music combine together, it really attract me a lot. So I was aspired by this module and decided to research about what is the relationship between animation and sound. After a consultation with Mr Hayati, she think this is a good research topic and she think my direction is clear. The only problem is my topic is mainly about sound, she suggested me to approach more to animation and graphic.
Below is my first attempt of my proposal.

Week 3(27/04/2020)
below are some of the feedback given by Ms Hayati for my first attempt proposal.
1. I need to reface research problem. My research problem is true but she suggest me to draft a different version.
2. My problem statement is more like background of study, need to redo.
3. The references must be written scholarly because blog or normal website are not reliable.
4. Don't use "I" in the proposal, use "Researcher" or my name.

After receiving these feedbacks, I improved my proposal and include it in a slideshow following lecturer's instruction. Below is the second attempt of proposal.

Below is the final proposal after lecturer's last feedback.
